The FALL SEASON, and your HAIR

Best Brush BRUSH FOR Fall Hair FALL Hair Care Healthy Hair

Fall, what you need to know when temperatures drop. What changes do I need to make with my hair routine?

Cooler temperatures, wind, and cool damp rainy days can be challenging for both your hair and your skin. It's also the time to pull out your hair dryer once again.

First check your hairdryer look for signs of overheating, this can be as simple as checking the filter on the back of the dryer, look for lint as this can choke the motor and cause overheating, or hot spots which can burn hair, your scalp and your brushes.Next look for signs of a twisted cord, cuts, and loose cord these can be hazardous.

NOTE: you may be able to adjust the amount of air flow and heat on most dryers to suit your personal needs.

What about your hair brushes check to see if you have damaged burnt bristles or  broken nylon tips on the brushes may break / tear the hair and scratch your scalp.

Don't forget to clean your brushes of hair and product build up to make them work well.

Bristles we recommend a combination of natural boar and nylon mix for styling and grooming.

NOTE: Natural Boar bristles can be conditioned with you conditioner if you are having difficulty controlling STATIC just like your hair apply leave on for 2 to3 minutes then rinse.

Time to look at both your shampoo and conditioners, what you did use in the summer will not be effective in the Fall. Look for shampoos with Hydrating properties which work well on finer hair as they will not add weight or make the hair limp.Volume shampoo's which work well in the summer/humidity tend to be drying in the Fall due to the cooler weather and can dehydrate your hair and leave fine hair  flat/ flyaway very quickly after shampooing.

If you have drier coarser hair a shampoo with Moisturizing properties will make the hair softer as they contain oils which help hydrate coarse thick hair making it feel and look healthier.

Put away those summer  leave-in conditioners's as they only coat the surface and you may still have flyaway hair this is the time for a rinse out conditioner which are more effective. The label should read HYDRATING for fine hair as they tend to have less weight leaving your hair with some body/ volume these also are ideal for those with fine soft curls.

If your hair is drier coarser textured  you should look for conditioners that focus on  MOISTURIZING properties with oils such as Argan/ Jojoba which will give you a better conditioning getting the extra moisture your hair needs will leave your hair softer, flexible with added shine.

During the colder months it is recommended to apply a weekly treatment, for fine hair, RECONSTRUCTOR'S address both strengthening with protein and moisture in the hair.  The more moisture and protein your hair can hold creates a perfect balance for fine fragile hair. This is even more important if your bleaching or using high lift color formulas and are using hot irons for curling or straightening.

Thicker coarser hair will benefit from a treatment high in moisture with ingredients like Coconut and Jojoba oils and lower in protein strengthening properties to achieve lustrous softer manageable hair. In most cases the same applies for thicker unruly curlier hair types, usually  the tighter the curl the more oils are required.

Just as fashion and skin care changes seasonally so should you hair care regime.
