The HAIR ESSENTIALS, when your on Vacation

BRUSH FOR Healthy Hair

What you need to consider when taking your hair on Vacation

Traveling South or North pack your essentials:

No matter where your heading your hair can get super dehydrated and very tangled. Traveling on planes skiing the slopes, or hitting the beach are all very dehydrating for the hair.

Carry a leave-in conditioner in a spray if your hair is fine or a cream if your hair tends to be thick, curly, very dehydrated or fly-away.

We believe the best approach is to choose products that PREVENT the problems then just repair them after the fact. Yes, there are tons of products out there but here are the key characteristics to look for when choosing one.

"PREVENTION is the best PROTECTION™"

These are usually sold as sun protection/sunscreens which most brands address, but will work well for both extreme Hot or Cold climates.

Characteristics to look for:

  • Sunscreens as both hot and cold environments need sun protection.
  • A light oil-based formula to keep the hair hydrated either a clear oil or a cream form, this will depend on your hair type, lighter weight for fine, thicker for thick or curly hair.
  • Anti Humidity and Anti Dehydration products resist high humidity and also create a barrier to prevent dehydration as well they protect the hair from friction caused by winter scarves and hats which cause static and tangling

A braid or Pony tail will keep your hair in place keeping it neat and tangle free. The correct brush and brushing method are also important. Brushes with a mix of natural bristles and nylon are best for this Job. We suggest the Mini-G by Hotheads hair brush as it has the right bristle mix which is 2 types of Natural boar bristles which is best to distribute the products and 1 flexible nylon for gentle detangling. Good things come in small packages. It’s a compact travel brush.

Applying your product to the brush bristles lightly and then brushing your hair is quick and easy, at any time day or night.

If your heading South as mentioned above your products should have a quality which will reduce frizz as well a UV protector to prevent those wonderful sun rays from burning and fading a fresh color. If the pool has chlorine, bromine or salt like the ocean these will also help prevent the damaging effects. No need to use clarifying or stripping shampoos as you have prevented the issues.

Keeping your locks in the optimum shape for your return to reality. A cap, hat or scarf not only adds to a fashion statement but aids in protecting your hair and face from too much wind and sun exposure.

Enjoy your visit to paradise and never miss a step on your return with great looking hair.
